French Speaking Sub-Saharan Africa is making waves in the tech industry, and the Orange Fab Challenge in Cameroon has unveiled the spotlight on Koree – pronounced “cowrie.”

Primarily aimed at serving as a bridge between start-ups and the Orange resource network, the Orange Fab Challenge is a gateway to some amazing opportunities for tech startups. The collaboration catalyzes the development of new enterprises by providing startups with resources, partnerships and mentorship necessary to drive growth and enhance visibility.

At the 2nd edition of the Orange Fab startup acceleration program in Cameroon, three startups will benefit from the investments and sponsors presented, and Koree is the top selection among them. Founded in 2022 by Magalie Gauze-Sanga, the app was created with a mission to provide a 100% digital and secure solution to a problem that many African shoppers face daily. The problem in question involves the way spare change shortages dampen the value of shopping sessions, even for essential needs.

Koree’s vision will help African shoppers & merchants avoid the frustration that stems from spare change scarcity. Instead, Koree gives merchants access to a digitized platform that acts as a ledger for the change they owe their shoppers, while allowing them to offer cashback to reward their shoppers loyalty.
To give Koree a stronger presence in French-speaking Africa, the Orange Fab acceleration program will provide resources targeted at expansion. Scaling up this business model will be much more achievable thanks to Orange’s network of industry experts set to provide mentorship for Koree’s strategic development plans. Moreover, the support of D. Moukouri & Partners law firm will help the company in navigating challenges that are commonly faced in a startup’s journey.

This accolade also presents Koree with an unparalleled opportunity to propel its innovation-driven goals and chart a path to success. With a commitment spanning six months, the Orange Fab program pledges comprehensive support to Koree, recognizing its potential to reshape industries and drive change in the African financial ecosystem.
Orange’s resources such as L’Ecole du Code will be crucial in ensuring that Koree can receive technical support to further refine their software tools and hardware resources. Scaling is important, but having solid servers, software management tools and APIs can make or break the longevity of a brand, and the input from Orange is a welcomed addition.

A cornerstone of this journey is the specially dedicated co-working spaces within the Orange Digital Center. Here, Koree’s team will immerse themselves in an environment teeming with creativity and collaboration, fostering an ecosystem where ideas can flourish and breakthroughs can be realized. This space, thoughtfully designed to nurture innovation, forms the backdrop against which Koree’s aspirations will come to life.

As the Orange Fab Cameroon Challenge unfolds in 2023, Koree stands poised to extract maximum value from this transformative experience. The convergence of visionary leadership, collaborative spaces, and strategic partnerships creates an environment for Koree to refine its offerings, expand its reach, and contribute to the broader tech ecosystem.
Koree is set to scale its business ventures beyond Cameroon. It aims to become a household name for French-speaking Africa. Thanks to the Orange Fab program, the expansion strategy is about to ramp up with more funding and attention.
